Dental Implants Provide a Permanent Smile Solution

If you have missing, chipped or cracked teeth, it’s natural to feel self-conscious about a less-than-perfect smile. At Lifetime Dentistry, our dental care team has substantial experience providing dental implants to complete a perfect smile. Many patients prefer dental implants rather than dentures because implants are a permanent, low-maintenance solution for a perfect smile.

Smile with Confidence Thanks to Dental Implants

Before the development of implants, dentures were the only option for replacing missing teeth. Dentures, however, can be difficult to use when eating, drinking or even talking. They require regular cleaning to avoid bacterial infection and odor. Additionally, dentures are not always a “perfect fit” which means they may slip during daily use. Implants are a permanent alternative that mimic the look and feel of natural teeth. Our implants are made from a synthetic, biocompatible material like ceramic. They are colored to match the existing shade of your teeth for an all-over, even smile.

Our dental implants are inserted into the jawbone using a metal anchor. Implants act as the foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. This artificial “tooth root” is inserted into the jawbone’s structure during a multi-step process that takes place over several visits. The first step is the surgical insertion of the tooth root. During this process, our dentist will insert titanium screws into the jaw bone. Following the screw insertion, most patients must wait three to six months for the screws to fuse with the jaw structure. Next, our dentist will fit your implant using a custom-made tooth crown or bridge that is designed to match your existing tooth structure. Our implant crowns and bridges look just like real teeth – no one but you will ever know they are not your original teeth.

Since implants are virtually identical to your existing teeth, once the implant process is complete you will be able to smile, laugh, talk, eat and drink completely normally. You will not need to worry about implants “slipping or sliding” as dentures are prone to do. They are comfortable and easy to clean, just like regular teeth. Most importantly, dental implants are a long-term solution for missing teeth. Once the implant process is complete, you will not need to worry about having additional cosmetic or implant dentistry performed on the same tooth. Dental implants are a popular smile solution!

If you are considering receiving dental implants, we recommend scheduling a diagnostic appointment with our dental care team. While dental implants are a safe, effective solution for many of our patients, not every individual is a good candidate. In order to safely insert implants into the jawbone, a patient must have sufficient bone density and a strong immune system. During a diagnostic appointment, our dentist will explain the implant process in greater detail and determine whether you are a good candidate.
