Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implants & Crowns Included in Restorative Dental Care

Dental implants are one of our most popular restorative dental care options. Implants are a permanent replacement for one or more missing teeth. Implants are completed in two stages. In the first stage, a restorative dentist will insert titanium screws into the jawbone. These screws form the base anchor for your implants. Once they have fused with the jawbone, a restorative cap is milled to match the shape and color of your existing teeth. These dental caps will blend seamlessly in with your smile – only you will know that you have an implant!

Dental implants are a popular restorative choice because they are a permanent solution and they are easy to care for. Simply brush and floss around your implant as if it were a regular tooth. Implants stay firmly in place since they are drilled into the jawbone; this protects your jaw structure and helps prevent jawbone loss. Dentures, in contrast, can be difficult to clean. Additionally, since dentures are simply glued onto the gums, they do not prevent deterioration of the jawbone. Individuals with dentures may still suffer from a “shrunken mouth,” which can lead to embarrassment or cause individuals to become self-conscious. Finally, dentures do not always stay in place while eating, laughing, smiling or talking. With implants, there is no need to worry about the teeth suddenly slipping out of place.

Caps and bridges are another restorative dental care option available from our cosmetic dentistry team. If you are missing a tooth, then a dental bridge literally “bridges” the gap caused by this missing tooth. A false tooth cap will replace the missing tooth. This cap is held in place by crowns on the adjacent teeth. For many years, caps and crowns, along with dental bridges, were the standard for restorative dental care. While most of our patients now prefer the more permanent option of dental implants, we still offer caps, crowns and bridges. Implants are more expensive than bridges, and some patients may prefer a dental bridge as a temporary solution until additional restorative dental care work can be performed.

Our cosmetic dentistry team works closely with each patient to create the perfect smile. Whether you choose dental implants or a dental bridge with caps and crowns, we are confident that you will be happy with your restorative dental care choice. Don’t let a missing tooth hold you back from smiling – your perfect smile is just a phone call away!
